Rivers Angels’ Head Coach, Tosan Bob Blankson, has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness to face Naija Ratels in match week 2.
Despite not having played a match in the current season due to their opponents’ disqualification, Blankson believes his team is well-prepared.
“We are very prepared for the match, but the only difference is that we didn’t play our first match in match week 1,” Blankson stated.
He acknowledged that Naija Ratels has an edge, having already played a match, but remains optimistic about his team’s chances.
“I believe Naija Ratels have an edge over us because they have played in the league already, and we haven’t.
We would be under pressure for now till the game starts before we will know what to do on that day,” he added.
Blankson refused to judge Naija Ratels based on their performance last season, emphasizing that the team has a different set of players this season.
“Last season has passed. You don’t judge the team with players of last season. We have different players last season, and this season, let’s see how it goes when the game starts.”
The match between Rivers Angels and Naija Ratels is scheduled for Wednesday at 1 pm. at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
Rivers Angels are looking to continue their unbeaten streak against Naija Ratels, having won four and drawn one in their last five encounters.
