The President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Engineer Musa Kida, will this evening be honored with the prestigious Wakawaka Sports Award at City Cruz Hotel, Owerri — one of the city’s premier hospitality venues.
Engr. Kida has made a remarkable impact on the development of basketball in Nigeria. Under his leadership, Nigeria’s national teams have reached historic milestones, including qualification for the FIBA Women’s World Cup and securing multiple AfroBasket titles in record time for both the men’s and women’s teams.
As Chairman of the Rivers State Basketball Association, Kida has played a pivotal role in transforming basketball at the grassroots and national levels. His exceptional contribution to sports development is further reflected in his recent appointment as Chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) by the Federal Government — a strategic position expected to further boost the development of sports in Nigeria.
This award serves as a recognition of Engr. Kida’s unwavering dedication to the growth of basketball and sports in general across the country.
