Getfit International Fitness Club of Lagos State last week visited Mbaise for the burial of their coordinator’s father at Otulu, Ahiazu Mbaise. The team used the opportunity to visit the Chairman of the Imo State Mini Football Association and CEO of G Innovation Football Club of Lagos, Mr. Chigozie Nwagwu, who hosted one of Lagos State’s finest recreational clubs. They experienced the renowned hospitality of the Mbaise people.
Mr. Nwagwu, a member of the visiting team, warmly welcomed them to his farm home, a unique space where nature and human life coexist harmoniously. The farm, known for nurturing various domestic animals, including snakes, captivated the visiting team members with its distinctive atmosphere.
Expressing his delight at receiving the team, Mr. Nwagwu showcased the serene and natural environment of his farm. The visiting team was led by BOT Chikwado Okeke (Cilo), the founder of the club, and BOT Denis Agbator (02). The club captain, Mr. Bensuccess Nnachor, along with other members from the diaspora, represented Getfit United International Club—an All-Stars Sports Club based in Lagos State, Nigeria. They expressed their gratitude and admiration for the warm hospitality extended to them in Mbaise.
Inspired by the memorable experience, the team expressed their willingness to return to Imo State for a friendly match in the coming months. The club members appreciated the warm reception and commended how the initiative is fostering community spirit through sports and nature in Mbaise, further enriching their understanding of the Mbaise Nation.
