The Chairman of Imo State Mini Football Association and CEO of G-Innovation, Chigozie Nwagwu, has commended the teams and clubs that participated in the recently concluded Lagos Master 2.0 scouting program. The highly anticipated event, held at Inspire Sports Ground, Oshodi NITEL, brought together young football talents eager to showcase their skills in front of top scouts and club representatives.
Nwagwu expressed his gratitude to his European partner clubs, which played a key role in the program’s success by sending scouts to evaluate the players. Among the visiting clubs were AC Horsens (Denmark), KF Elbasani (Albania), Real Murcia (Spain), FK Partizani (Albania), SV Ried (Austria), and FC Pyunik Yerevan (Armenia). Their presence added credibility and excitement to the event, providing young players with a rare opportunity to be assessed by professional clubs.
At the end of the three-day scouting program, 14 players were selected from 12 participating teams, a testament to the level of talent displayed. Nwagwu also took the time to appreciate his partners, BG Sport Limited and Coated Masters, for their vital contributions in making the historic event a reality. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in organizing such programs and praised their dedication to grassroots football development.
Looking ahead, arrangements are being made for the chosen players to travel abroad for further trials and possible professional contracts. Nwagwu reaffirmed G-Innovation’s commitment to supporting young footballers, promising continued efforts to create platforms that bridge the gap between local talent and global opportunities.
