As the curtain draws on the Waka Football League season 2, on Saturday, October 19, at the Eagle Club pitch, Surulere, Lagos,the Apapa Ajegunle fc are favourites for the least offensive team prize of the championship.
With an unassailable 12.5points during the season, the team which plays FFC in one of the last day fixtures, are certain to retain the Fair play trophy they won last season. On record for the award, FFC with 18.5points are out of contention, while First Waka A has 21.5, First Waka B registered 26.5points. At the bottom of the rung is Managers FC with 27points.
It promises to be another memorable day for
football fans as defending champions, First Waka A clash with arch rivals, First Waka B fc in a battle of titans to decide the season 2 winners.
It has been a tough and unpredictable season for the teams through the 20-week fixtures. Defending champions, Table toppers, First Waka A with 19points will file out against First Waka B who are second with 13points on the log for the Waka Football League season 2 trophy.
Chairman of Lagos State Waka Football Association, Mr. Godson Uti, who commended the team for high quality display during the season, is optimistic of worthy finals matches.
According to him, the season 2 league has witnessed a lot of improvement in officiating and team’s knowledge of the rules.
