Nigeria Players , under the umbrella body of the players union, National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers, NANPF congratulates Abe Sunday as he hangs his boot from active Football.The former Sunshine Stars FC, captain who’s election as chairman of the players board of the union was affirmed by the Congress of the union on 12th of August 2024 in Akure will retain his portfolio as chairman of the board despite the change of status from current to ex player until he sees his tenure through in 2027 in accordance with the relevant provisions of the union’s constitution.
The union applauds his leadership qualities and dedication to players welfare and the overall development of the game both at Club and union level
Abe Sunday until his retirement was the longest serving club Captain in the Nigeria League , and featured in the national under 17, 20, 23 and the home based eagles at various times, including playing Professional Football abroad, precisely in Albania.
The union wish him greater exploits in his new role as match analyst with his club, Sunshine Stars FC as he joins hands with other members of the players board to take the players union in Nigeria to the next level.
