The Umbrella Youth Organizations in Imo State: National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, has felicitated with youths as they mark
International Youth Day 2024.
Acknowledging the theme of the 2024 Global Youth Day Celebration – “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development”, NYCN urges Government at all levels to adequately create admissible grounds to enable youths engage in productive activities to be able to assuage poverty and vulnerability.
The Council while hailing the youth for being peaceful, requests them to continue to uphold peace and patriotism – supporting the good policies and programs of government to advance better living.
Notably, International Youth Day is a global celebration dedicated to the contributions, aspirations and potential of young people around the world, gearing to raise awareness on the challenges facing youths, highlighting their innovative ideas and positive impact on the society.
Historically, International Youth Day was established by the United Nations in 1999 and is celebrated in over 150 countries including Nigeria.
