Rangers Foundation Donates Sets of Football to School Children in Enugu

The Chairman Rangers International Football Club Foundation, Ebere Amaraizu has maintained that the enormous benefits of multi sports activities participation especially by children and young persons cannot be over emphasized.

He noted that multi sports activities helps in sharpening skills and turning them into a multi talented sports athletes with versatility.

The Chairman made this known during the formal presentation of Sets of footballs by Rangers int’l Foundation and also presentation of tournament chess board by Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation to the management of Mater Carmeli College Akpuoga Nike Enugu recently.

According to Amaraizu, the essence of introduction of multi sports activities by Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation for children and young persons is very commendable as it will help to expose them to the knowledge of many sporting events, improve their cognitive, affective and psychomotor abilities, sharpen their skills and help create broad range of skills amongst them.

He added that it will provide the environment to interact with diverse group of people in different sports thereby fostering sense of belongings and community cohesion, team work skills which are valuable life skills beyond the sporting arena.

“Multi sports activities participation will help to expose them to many sporting options for ease of selections and also knowledge about how sports tenets relates to one another and what it can bring to life and existence.

“For instance, a chess player can play soccer using the tenets obtained in chess such as strategic thinking, creative mindset and strategic planning and making of choices (options ).”

Amaraizu used the opportunity to disabuse the mindsets of children and young persons who were thinking that certain sports were for male folk only.

He educated them on the participation of male and female in all sports and pointing out further that even physically challenged do sports.
