Arrangement has been put in place for the second edition of Imo State Veterans Football Competition coming up soon.
Discussion and meeting between the organizers Imo State Football Association and teams has been ongoing on the best way to organize a a successful competition.
The committee led by Mr Casmir Mbachu yesterday at the football house appreciated the presence of the veterans teams in the state for keeping faith with the committee and promised that minor mistakes observed at the maiden edition last year will be corrected.
He said the Chairman of imo State Football Assocation Barrister Ifeanyi Dike is solidly behind the competition and urged Veterans Football Clubs across the state to get involved in the project to give a meaning to retired Footballers in the state and create awareness and networking opportunity for members.
The home and away format was agreed for the competition which is in its second edition with teams like the defending champions Diamond Dynamics, who have registered already.
Mr Mbachu emphasised that the committee will organise a seminar to educate players and officials of registered teams on the value of the competition which brings retired Footballers across the state together once in a year.
