IMBA Begins Renovation of Dan Anyiam Stadium Basketball Court




The Dan Anyiam Stadium Basketball Court is beginning to take a right shape following the renovation work to secure the facility from the public who have used the premium basketball court in the state as a walkway.

The work which commenced last week will last for two weeks. During this period, the facility will be closed to the public until after the job that is been undertaken by members of the Imo State Basketball Association is completed.

Speaking on the ongoing repair work, the Chairman of the association in the state, Mr Kelechi Anosike gave kudos to his members for embarking on the project, which after completion will give a beautiful outlook to the facility that has produced great men and women, who have represented the country and recently produced two players in the National Youth Basketball team.

Mr Anosike said the decision to give a facelift to the facility was taken during one of their virtual meetings with members across the globe.

Also, fencing the basketball court is the number one the numerous project of the association in the State Sports Commission in the last few years.

Recall that Imo State Basketball Association media reported that the state basketball team had already won the South-East Basketball Association competition after winning its last game held in Umuahia, Abia State as arrangement is on for the State Basketball League.

Chairman of the fencing Committee, Mr Ifeanyi Delon Okpareche said the ongoing work will secure the areas of the facility and make it more attractive to members of the public with their families to enjoy the conviviality that the game of basketball brings.

He urged basketballers in the state to endure the inconveniences the repair work would create this period to enable them enjoy the facility after completion of the work.
