Okolie’s Strike Condemns Hopeland To 1-0 Defeat As St. Nwadinso Make Anambra NLO Preseason Winning Start

Nwabunwannw Victor Okolie’s second half strike condemned Hopeland Academy to a 1-0 defeat in their first match of the inaugural edition of the 2024 Anambra Statw NLO pre season Tournament Thursday inside the Rojenny Stadium, Oba, near Onitsha.

St Nwadinso, which burst into existence few months ago matched their brilliant red Jersey with enthralling performance on the pitch, serving the appreciable spectors a dose of champaign Soccer.

Both teams contested every single ball on the pitch with each player fighting to defend the badge on their left side of their jerseys.

Coach Obinna Achebe, better known as ‘Nwa-Aba’, kept his battling troops on their toes as he yelled instructions from technical area as the game wore on.

‘Nwa-Aba’ was delighted his side shut down their more experienced opponent, and hopes they keep their heads as the pre season tournament progresses.

“I’m happy that we won. Ours is still a young team, being assembled just few months ago.

“I commend them for a good performance today and I hope to improve the squad as we get set for the NLO playoff”, Achebe said.

St Nwadinso Football Academy, Oba, will compete in the NLO playoffs after acquiring the Likeminds Feeders, FCT, slot in the NLO.
