..says Imo FA Cup Will Return to Mbaise

Engr Chris Onyetugo Iheagwara has declared the readiness of Ikukuoma FC to conquer the Nigerian football scene in years to come following their qualification to the final of the Imo FA Cup, Silvernews.com.ng reports.

According to Iheagwara, the founder of Ikukuoma Sports Development Foundation, High Chief Summers Nwokie is ready to ensure that the team becomes the beacon of football in the country.

Recall that High Chief Nwokie, who floated Ikukuoma FC out of the burden to engage youths in Mbaise, has set the target to rise to the pinnacle of Nigerian league football from the Nationwide Division One.

While calling on well-meaning Mbaise people to extend humanitarian assistance to develop the Mbaise nation, he expressed optimism that the club will clinch the Imo FA Cup and make Mbaise people proud by becoming the first team to win it in Mbaise.

He said: “I am very excited. Since Ikukuoma was birthed, I knew the sky will always going to be their limit and since then, they have been progressing. They have come into a big limelight and we are praying that they should be like Barcelona or Arsenal.

“Every individual has what moves you. The High Chief Summers Nwokie, in terms of sports is determined to make sure that the football club, Ikukuoma FC goes to a higher place but it is not everybody that behaves like the High Chief. Others can indulge into other things to make Mbaise come up in the map.

“Like High Chief Summers Nwokie, football has taken the game of the community, Ezeagbogu to a very high place like in the Eastern region, you see people talking about Ikukuoma FC and where is Ikukuoma FC, it is in Ezeagbogu. Other individuals too who want their communities to come should look for something that will bring out their communities just as the High Chief is doing.

“We are equal to the task. This cup is coming straight to Mbaise this time around. What will happen in terms of the celebration, you need not to be told. This Ikukuoma FC that has brought in the likes of Daniel Amokachi, Tijani Babangida, Henry Nwosu, Emmanuel Amunike, Mobi Oparaku, Silvestre Anozie and all the rest. Don’t expect anything less as soon as the cup comes to Mbaise.”
