Nigeria’s Super Falcons have booked their place in the final round of the 2024 Olympic Games qualifier with a win over the Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon.
The first leg between both sides played in Douala last week ended goalless draw and put the Nigerian side at an advantage.
In the second leg played at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Monday, the 9-time African champions controlled the game from the blast of the whistle and pegged back the attacking threat of the Cameroonian.
Their efforts quickly paid off as they scored in the 15th minute through Esther Okronkwo after a decent footwork from Echejinni.
The Cameroonians worked extra hard especially in the second half to come back into the game but the superb performance of goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie denied them the opportunity of equalising the game.
Super Falcons won the game by a lone goal and qualified for the final round 1-0 on aggregate.
