Super Eagles Team Manager, Patrick Pascal said that the future is very bright for the Super Eagles following their impressive outing at the just concluded 2023 AFCON, Silvernews.com.ng reports.
Pascal, who expressed delight over the their performance noted that the players are doing well at their various club sides, which earned them the call up to the national team.
Speaking on the leadership qualities of Captain Ahmed Musa, the Team Manager said the skipper played a key role in the team during the 2023 AFCON.
His words: “I am happy because I have been working with the team for a very long time. The team has shown Nigerians that they are ready to make Nigerians happy. The most important thing is that the crop of players we have are young and the future is very bright for Nigeria.
“Every Nigerian expects Nigeria to do well because when you check their performance based on what they are playing in their clubs. The performance of clubs will make you believe you are doing well or not. We have players who came and are very strong in their teams and doing well.
“What do you expect is that their performance and energy that they are putting in their clubs, if they can put that in the national team, definitely we are going somewhere. We are very happy to see this progress. Everybody is happy and that is what Nigerians want. Football is one of our religions.
“Ahmed Musa is a good person who has leadership qualities because in football, most especially Super Eagles, you need someone that has experience, someone that will guide the young players that are coming up, someone that can ginger them, someone that can be between the players and the NFF.
“Ahmed Musa has played his own role as a captain because he is someone that they players respect a lot and then the national team officials, even the NFF respect him because he is the most senior player that has the most cap in Nigeria.”
