Super Eagles Team Manager, Patrick Pascal has hailed Ahmed Musa for his leadership qualities at the 2023 AFCON, Silvernews.com.ng reports.
Pascal noted that the Super Eagles captain played a key role in the team during the 2023 AFCON.
According to him, Musa has paid his dues since making his debut for the Super Eagles adding that he related with both the coach and teammates for the success of the team in Abidjan.
He said: “Musa has paid his dues. For me he is a leader that took the mantle of leadership in Abidjan because he did not play any match but anytime when they are having meetings, he is the one pushing and encouraging everyone that they should make name because he won this trophy in South Africa and he wants them to make history for themselves.
“So now, Ahmed Musa has gold, silver and bronze because he went to Egypt together when we won the bronze medal. He is a very good person. It’s not easy to be a leader. He has tried his best and has paid his dues.
“He and the coach do not have a problem. A coach is a coach, a player is a player. You can give advice to the coach and a player remains a player. For him and the coach they talked a lot and even with other captains. Everything went well. There was no problem. We hope it will continue.”
