…berates individuals working against Heartland

Technical Adviser of Heartland FC, Christian Obi has assured that his team is now ready to soar like the Eagles ahead of the resumption of the league, Silvernews.com.ng reports.

Obi said that the team has surmounted all the unnecessary distractions by some individuals working against the progress of the team.

He called on well-meaning Imolites to rally support for the team adding that Heartland is a project that belongs to all citizens of Imo State.

He reassured that the team will lift to the top beyond its current state in the league while imploring the players, coaches and members of staff to join hands with him to rescue Heartland.

He said: “The coven has been broken. God has been working behind the scene for this club that’s why I said those that are working against the team are not helping. The team is now ready to soar like the Eagles.

“The game against Kano Pillars, every hands must be on deck. I have not done wrong to people who are working against me. Why are we fighting the team? It is not my team, it is our state team.

“But tomorrow’s game, I can assure us that it’s a date to remember that the team has risen and this place we are staying now is not our place. We are moving up and we will not stop until we get to the top.

“When the team went on relegation, everybody abandoned us. There was nobody who came near us. For four months, there was nothing. No support of any kind as God will have it, we took off, went into the league proper and were able to go unbeaten.

“This thing happened to some people unexpectedly, and3 when they woke up, they now started saying why must it be Christian Obi. They began to work against the team, not knowing that this team is for Imo State.

“Any Imolite, who is working against this team is not an Imolite. It is very clear that you are working against your own state team not to progress. You are not helping but destroying the state.

“I will plead with them, let us join hands and build this team instead of destroying it. I have been able to prepare this team and if a little support is given to me by Imolites, this team will do very well. I have a good team.”

Heartland will trade tackles with Kano Pillars at the Enyimba FC Stadium Aba as the league makes a return after the AFCON break.
