The Chairman, Players Union Board, Sunday Abe has hailed the Super Eagles for their heroics at the just concluded 2023 AFCON.
According to Abe, the players surpassed expectations following their appearance at the 2023 AFCON final.
“True the Super Eagles went to AFCON and we want to believe not many of us could have sworn that they would get to the Quarter Finals talkless of playing the finals with the host country.
“Yes, we were not disgraced and the beautiful testimony was that our captain fantastic, Troost Ekong stood like a rock of Gibraltar and deservedly won the player of the tournament.
“From us at the Players Union, we want to appreciate the entire team for properly representing the nation.
“For a long while, the entire nation forgot the hardship and concentrated on supporting and praying for our dear Super Eagles.
“Once again we say thank you to the entire team for doing us proud. It can only get better.
“Up next is the World Cup qualifiers. Come on guys, let’s work on getting the World Cup ticket and silence all doubting Thomases.”
