Coach Ebere Amaraizu has tipped the Super Eagles to lift the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire, Silvernews.com.ng reports.
Coach Amaraizu tasked the team not to relent in their efforts after defeating Angola adding that they are capable of bringing the trophy home.
He however noted some areas the Coach Jose Peseiro needs to work on, especially the midfield and left-back positions.
“It was an intensive and impressive encounter. Jose Peseiro kept faith with the squad that did the work against Indomitable Lions.
“Also, the quick recovery and comeback of Stanley Nwabali between the two sticks, where he did marvelous saves against Angola.
“The midfield and the wings were functional. The runs from the wing created the space and chance for our goal.
“However, the Angolans tried to give good account of themselves but nevertheless were overwhelmed by Super Eagles technical and tactical dispositions.
“The Super Eagles should not rest on their oars by basking on the euphoria of the defeat of Angola but should make haste to fine-tune midfield especially the defensive-midfield to make it flow well with Alex Iwobi.
“Then Zaidu Sanusi in the left-back should be made to be more clinical. With this and more, the Super Eagles have all that it takes to overcome any opponent and bring the trophy to Nigeria.”
