Head of Coach of Sunshine Stars, Edith Agoye has denied the reports of a two-match ultimatum to his assistant coaches, Wakawaka Sports Extra reports.

Agoye noted that the management of the team is solidly behind the team and has motivated the players and coaches adding that his job is safe.

He hailed his side for the win against Abia Warriors in match day 6 of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, which ended 2-1 in favour of the Owena Whales.

He said: “I don’t know about any ultimatum. I didn’t hear anything about it. There is never anything official about it, probably rumours from people, I don’t know. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t know anything about it because such a thing doesn’t exist.

“Definitely my job is safe, the management have given us all the encouragement in order to forge ahead and you can see they are solidly behind us. As far as possible, they motivated the players and which we did today.

“It was an important one for us to get the equalizing goal before half time, which we did. Once we were able to equalize before half time, we knew once we continue to play to put pressure on the opponents, definitely we will get the winning goal which we eventually did.”

The Akure based side currently occupy the 14th position on the NPFL log and will travel to Port Harcourt to face Rivers United in match day 7 of the NPFL.
