The performance of Imo State athletes at the 3rd edition of the South-East Under-16 Championship has drawn commendation from a staunch supporter of Governor Hope Uzodinma in Diaspora, Engineer J. O. Osundu, Wakawaka Sports Extra reports.
The Chairman of the Movement Home Diaspora said he was not surprised by the performance of the lads because anything the governor is interested in doing turns to gold.
He encouraged sports men and women in the state to replicate their performance in the sports field to action by voting massively for the governor come November 11th 2023 election in the state.
According to him, the second half of the governor’s stay in office will see Imo State sports make great improvement in a scope of sports development in the country.
It was a bumper harvest of some sort as Imo athletes in the championship as they won 7 Gold medals, 9 Silver medals and two Bronze medals.
The sporting event which held at Umuahia, Abia State, provided an opportunity for Imo young athletes to showcase their talents as the state was represented by 9 girls and 12 boys.
