Players of Vandrezzer Football Club of Uyo are protesting over unpaid eight months salaries owed them by the Proprietor of the club, Wakawaka Sports Extra reports.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a member of the team said the team which is highly recommended as one of the best teams in the country have not paid them for eight months and has cost low moral in their camp.

The team which is preparing for the start of the 2023/2024 Nigeria National League, NNL, season may be in for a big surprise, as most of the players may work away as free players to other teams who are ready to pay for their services.

The player who is the breadwinner of his family said his younger ones risk been sent out of school any moment from now as they have not paid for the last academic year.

While calling on the management of the team to come to their rescue before it becomes late, the player expressed empathy for the proprietor of the club, who he believes doesn’t have the backing of the government but has cared for the players like government-owned clubs in the past noting that this has been the reason they are still with the club.
