The Assistant Coach of Sao Tome and Principe, William Barbosa says the Super Eagles of Nigeria is a very strong team that are capable of winning the Africa Cup of Nations, Wakawaka Sports Extra reports.
The Super Eagles thrashed their opponents 6-0 in a dead rubber game for the AFCON qualifications at the Godswill Akpabio Int’l Stadium in Uyo, on Sunday.
In his post-match conference, the coach said his team would continue to learn to become better in the future.
According to him, it feels good to play Nigeria while commending his team for putting up a great showing.
“In football everything is possible. It’s not impossible through trainings and personnel. Congratulations to Nigerians, many fans in the stadium. Nigeria is a very strong team. After Senegal, Nigeria is the best in Africa.
“The match for my team is not good because. We had full training which was not too much for this match. Everyone knows that Nigeria is a strong team. The match is just a formality.
“The last time we played Nigeria, we had domestic players. So now we have gotten a new team, new players now we just have little time to work with the new players.
“I can promise that in the long period, we would be better because we just had two trainings with the players. I think today it shows as well that we can play. We are still learning. I think next time, we would gather and big in the near future.
“It’s a new team. I’m proud of my team. In the future we will be there. We will work more. It feels good to play in Nigeria. Everything is good.”
