The Executive Director Operations and Information, Fidelity Bank PLC, Stanley Amuzie says the bank will expand its operation to the United Kingdom.
Speaking as a guest at CNBC Africa Business Lunch time programme, Amuchie revealed that they have changed the name to Fidelity Bank U.K to ease smooth running of business for their customers in the U.K.
According to him, plans are also underway to extend its operations outside the shores of Nigeria, particularly in Africa.
“We need to expand. Fidelity is the last of all commercial bank that doesn’t have a foreign operation. We have taken our time to plan. We are starting off in the U.K.
“We have acquired Union Bank UK. We are in the process of getting the name changed now to Fidelity Bank U.K. That’s the first level of acquisition we are doing outside the shores of this country.
“We also want to expand to the other African countries to support our customers businesses. Some of them need banking in the U.K for their business.”
