It was a joyous occasion when sports enthusiasts, and two time highest goal scorer in Nigeria, Mr Tony Nwaigwe of Ben Tv London donated wheelchairs to special athletes in Imo State.
Wakawaka Sports Extra reports that the London based philanthropists donated the items to encourage them through the Imo State Sports Commission.
According to him, “It was joyous when you put smile on people’s faces. Overtime we don’t have much to give. I and my wife decided when you want to do something, let it be meaningful to one’s well-being.
“I decided with my wife even if its one person, we can put a smile on their face. We decided in England and spoke to the sports commission about it. Some of these athletes have won laurels for the state and nothing to show for it.
“What we asked for is that we want to give to those that do not have at all and we told everybody that we aren’t giving to sports commission but individuals that really are in need of that.”
