Mbaise socio-cultural organization, Ezuruezu Mbaise, has fairly elected new executive who will pilot its affairs viably and creditably to enhance success, as well as move the organization forward.
The election which was held at National Headquarters of Ezuruezu House, Nkwogwu, Aboh Mbaise LGA, Imo State, on Saturday, was conducted freely and peacefully in a consensus method where members nominated and endorsed candidates for each contested position with Chief Frank Nneji and Hon. Oliver Enwerenem organizing it.
Some positions contested for included President General (Surveyor Jeo Anosike), Vice President General (Austin Onwubiko), Secretary General, Treasurer (Prof. Joachim A Onyike), Financial Secretary (Chief Donatus Obi Brown), Publicity Secretary/PRO (Christian Nwokocha),
Assistant Publicity Secretary (Chief Chidubem Orji), Social Secretary (Chief Dr Desmond Chikwe). The exco members were immediately sworn-in.
The inauguration ritual was performed by HRH, Eze Barr Stephen Obinna Azubuine, Obizie V of Obizi autonomous community, Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA, who urged the exco to lead well, ensure security, development and progress of Mbaise Nation, even as he prayed that God Almighty guides and directs them to succeed.
Earlier, HRH, Eze Engr GC Adiukwu Ogbonna of Umuadialo autonomous community, Aboh Mbaise and former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Her Excellency, Lady Dr Ada Okwuonu, praised the past executive for intervening in the dispute between a section of Mbaise and a part of Ngor-Okpala, calling on the new leadership to take security seriously, as well as indulge the presence of state government to the impasse for lasting peace.
Making valedictory Report of stewardship, past President General, Ezuruezu Mbaise, Barr. Cyril .I. Anyanwu, observed that despite challenges of finance, security and factionalism laudable achievements were prudently recorded.
In his inaugural speech, the newly elected PG of Ezuruezu Mbaise, Surveyor Jeo Anosike, promised to work in tandem with the entire executive to have efficient leadership geared to promote unity, peace and progress of the organization.
Anosike who thanked members for finding them worthy for the election, promised that Ezuruezu Mbaise would strengthen commitment towards security and development of Mbaise Nation, vowing that the organization shall dispel every opposition that impedes uniformity in the celebration of Iri Ji Mbaise Cultural Festival so much that “Mbaise people will be marking Iri Ji Mbaise together and on the same unique date and season. We encourage our people to fully participate in politics and governance to be able to draw more dividends of democracy to Mbaise Nation. We also encourage our youths to imbibe the culture of virtue, productivity, efficiency, godliness and patriotism to have a sustainable future and peaceful existence”.
Contributing, Treasurer and Financial Secretary of Ezuruezu Mbaise, Prof Joachim .I. Onyeike and Chief Donatus Obi Brown (who is also the Traditional Prime Minister of Amagbo Ihitte, Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA), promised to help improve Ezuruezu Mbaise, saying they will subscribe to anything legally acceptable to achieve target goals.
For Obi, “I cannot afford to disappoint Ezuruezu Mbaise and the entire Mbaise people, being an industrial captain and having worked with international companies for about 25 years, I promise I will not disappoint, but to add my wealth of experience and values towards peace and development of Mbaise Nation”.
