The Chairman of the Sports Writers Association Of Nigeria ,Federal Capital Territory Abuja Comrade Ndubueze Chidoka has commended the Nigeria police Force For coming up with POCACOV Initiative which is NPf Community Policing Initiative And Public Relations Tool Working With Different Stakeholders in addressing those challenges surrounding young minds and which make them journey to various kinds of crime and disturbances worrying the society .
Comrade Chidoka made this known shortly after his short unveiling ceremony and what POCACOV as NPF Community Policing Initiative And Public Relations Tool represent and which was held on 17/7/2023 at the POCACOV Resource Centre at the police public Relations School Building (Abuja Study Centre ) Force headquarters Abuja.He maintained that Nigeria Police Force was on point by coming up with such a laudable initiative focusing on children and young persons ,promoting positive behaviours in them,changing attitudes and building practical skills that will offer life changing opportunities and as alternative Meaningful Pathways which will make them to remain as National Assets and rather than dwelling in crime and pointing out that the initiative is top notch .He added that the use of the instrumentality of Community Sports through it’s POCACOV inspire and kicks activities also made the initiative a very distinct one and commended the National Coordinator POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu on how he is piloting POCACOV to fit into Community Peace Building through PREVENT Policing Framework of the Community policing and urged not to relent and pledged for SWAN partnership and support in the implementation of POCACOV inspire programmes to impact more on young minds and however expressed Joy and happiness for becoming one of the Stakeholders of POCACOV and to contribute his quota towards a safe , peaceful and secured communities.
Responding ,The National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices (POCACOV) CSP Ebere Amaraizu thanked the SWAN Boss For identifying with the Nigeria Police Force through POCACOV Initiative and further informed him on the numerous mouth watering and bumper packaged Activities of POCACOV such as #ourchildrenmustthrive#prevent#pocacovinmyfamily #pocacovinmy community #pocacovinmyachool amongst others and Targetted at young minds and relevant stakeholders to help cut the supply chains and conveyor belts of possible recruitment of young minds into membership of unlawful societies (Cultism),other vices and Organized criminal groups (OCGs). Amaraizu Further explained that the POCACOV inspire activities is aimed at exposing young minds to critical thinking,build confidence ,Streghten resilience and offer life changing opportunities in form of Alternative Meaningful Pathways through stakeholders and multi Agencies partnership and participation and in line with the tenets of the community oriented policing framework of the Nigeria police Force and however solicited for strong Participation by SWAN in driving the force for the establishment of high performance Community Sports Centres around communities ,Neighbourhood where young minds will recreate and channel their energies to positivity instead of using it negatively .
