Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the apex sociocultural organization of the Igbo people, has clarified issues bordering on the leadership of its Bayelsa state chapter.
The clarification was contained in a release signed by Spokesperson , South-South zone of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prince Gift Amadi and made available to newsmen in Owerri on Tuesday.
Amadi said in line with a release signed by Spokesperson of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Dr Alex Ogonnia, the only recognized leader of the Organization in Bayelsa state remains Mr Remigius Ekwem.
He warned that anyone parading himself as leader of the group would be doing so at their own risk, adding that those following the wrong leaders should desist from such ignorance realign with the right leadership as approved by the national body.
“ Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Bayelsa State Chapter, is led by Chief Remigius Ekwem, the only legitimate leader as approved by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.
“ Anyone dealing with anybody else is doing so at their own risk.
“ We urge naysayers to stop using Ohanaeze name to decieve the gullible Igbos in Bayelsa State and stop parading themselves as leaders of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Bayelsa State or face prosecution, for impersonation of office.
“ We will admonish all such persons to meet with the national leader for Bayelsa state and Financial Secretary, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths Worldwide, Chief Chinedu Arthur-Ugwa to proffer lasting peace “, he said.
