The Enugu State Taekwondo Association has rewarded the POCACOV Chairman, CSP Ebere Amarizu with the Taekwondo Black Belt for his giant strides in the field of marital arts and humanity at large.
Speaking with Wakawaka Sports Extra, the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, Football Coach noted that the award is a challenge to do more exploits in the society.
He described the gesture as a sign to inculcate the right values to the youths and society at large, adding that he will galvanize the stakeholders to impact more in the society.
CSP Amarizu said that POCACOV is a community policing activity by the NPF aimed at resolving issues through a society approach beyond the issue of arrest, shooting, incarceration among others.
“I thank Almighty God for the opportunity, my POCACOV family and the teeming stakeholders for their support. It is a kind of a challenge for you to rediscover yourself, put in your best knowing fully well that whatever thing you are doing will not go unrewarded because of lot of people are watching you.
“The issue is that you have a lot to do to impact on humanity and the society because that’s what this honour means. It’s a challenge for us to review what has not been done well towards impacting on humanity to make sure we galvanize stakeholders support and keep impacting on the society.
“We are talking about values to make sure our younger ones thrive, they do the right thing and of course together we will be able to enhance the positivism that is required as members of the society.
“POCACOV is a community policing activity, an NPF community policing initiative and also a public relations tool. We make use of the instrumentality of a whole lot of society approach. What we are trying to achieve is problem identification for joint problem solving by identifying people’s problem based on their peculiarities.
“What this means is you have a listening ear by finding out what is happening and stand by them to make this problem is resolved. It’s not all about arrest, shooting, incarceration but finding out the cause of the problem. It’s all about a whole lot of society approach.”
