The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria will make a record 10th appearance at this year’s U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Algeria.
Speaking with Wakawaka Sports Extra on global fm sports update, Media Officer of the team, Francis Achi said the Golden Eaglets are ready for the task ahead, which is to qualify for the world cup.
According to him, all the 26 players of the Nigeria U-17 team passed the mandatory MRI test ahead of the U17 AFCON starting this Sunday in Algeria.
He noted that the Nduka Ugbade led technical crew will give it their very best to ensure the target of the team is achieved.
“The players and coaches are ready for the task ahead. On Sunday, the Golden Eaglets will play their first game against Zambia.
“It was a very impressive result. The Golden Eaglets never wasted time. They did everything very fast mode and the CAF officials were very impressed. We never doubted our players will come out good from the result. The task ahead is to qualify for the world cup here in Algeria.”
