Hon. Chibuzor Etuemena, popularly known as Bash and a former chairman of Heartland FC, has reiterated that the recently commissioned Bashlyks Sports House and Events Centre, will serve as a model to others in terms of state-of-the-art facility.
Etuemena made this known in interview with Wakawaka Sports Extra, saying that he was spurred by his love for quality and class, that was evident during his reign as Heartland chairman, to raise such a top-notch facility, noting that his love for football also necessitated his action.
He added that the sports centre will serve as a relaxation point where families can enjoy themselves with an avalanche of various kinds of sports.
“I’m a kind of a man that loves something quality and class. Anything I get involved I want to do it well. I look at that this is a way to run a professional football club where I came from Europe, any club use two jerseys to execute a match and when you mentioned.
“Heartland as a professional club, I see it in that way who deserves the best. Its something that ought to be done and I did it.
“After Heartland, this is where I find myself and being someone I love football, and a star-studded player when I played. It’s something that is in the blood to be honest. I am happy finding myself here.
“This is a sports house where you can find all kinds of sports such as volleyball, lawn tennis, badminton, five/nine-aside games, swimming pool, table tennis and we will have more others as time goes on.
“This is place is a nice place that anyone who loves sports should come and enjoy himself. It’s a long journey because it took a lot time but I thank God it has happened.
“This is a place to come and relax. We have bar, restaurant and varieties of things to enjoy yourself. We also host events. I will advise family to come and enjoy themselves.”
On the failure of the Super Eagles to miss out on world cup qualification, he charged Amaju Pinnick to take up the responsibility and chart a way forward.
“It’s just like the day of that match. After that match, I felt sick. Not only Nigerians, the whole world felt disappointed. Nigeria is a football nation where other countries are looking up to. For Nigeria to miss the world cup, it’s going to be a disaster.”
“Football is something that unites this country and you can see the crowd in the stadium that came out to watch them. It’s all about either you win, lose or draw. It’s quite unfortunate that we won’t be there.
“This world cup is going to be one of the best. My advice to NFF, although he is doing well, he should take responsibility for failing the nation and strategize to look into it and know what happened
