NPFL 23: Remo Stars emerge victorious in South-West Derby

The Sky Blue Stars continued their impressive form at the start of the season with an emphatic victory against Shooting Stars of Ibadan.

The home team should have been two nil up early in the game, but Andy Okpe was unable to convert from close range. Late on in the first half, the visitors grew up in the game and had a goal, ruled out for an infringement in the build-up.

In the second half, the home team were more organized, and it did not take long before they break the deadlock. An own goal in the 60th minute after a lovely low cross from the left wing from Andy Okpe proved too much to handle for Shooting Stars defenders.

Wakawaka Sports Extra South-West Chief Correspondent, Elegbede Jacob Pipelaye reported that
after the goal was conceded by the visitors, the home team took total control of the game.

In the 70th minute, they had their second goal in the back of the net after some lovely touches from the players, which had Godwin Odibo in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper as he slotted home perfectly well.

It was a flawless performance in the second half for the Ikenne-based team. They now have a maximum of nine points from three games, seating on top of their group with a goal difference, while the Oluyole Boys need to pick themselves up in their next match, as they are still yet to win a game.
