Two major events in the NBBF 2022 calender of activities starts today in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
In the city of Lagos, its the start of the NBBF Premier League final 8 while in Port Harcourt it’s the beginning of the NBBF TotalEnergies Division 2 South South Play-off.
Eight clubs are in Lagos for the NBBF Premier League final 8 that will determine Nigeria’s Champion and flag bearer to the 2023 Basketball Africa League (BAL) finals to be played in Kigali, Rwanda.
Gombe Bulls, Kano Pillars, Benue Braves and Nigeria Customs are the teams coming from the Savannah Conference while Rivers Hoopers, Kwara Falcons, Lagos Islanders and Police Baton are from the Atlantic conference.
It promises to be a fight to finish as all the teams will be in action on Match Day 1 of the final 8 tagged Experience Greatness.
Kwara Falcons that has been in Lagos for over a week now will tip off the final 8 with a tricky tie against Benue Braves.
That game will be followed by the clash between Gombe Bulls and Lagos Islanders while another club that has spent over a week in Lagos preparing for the final 8, Rivers Hoopers has a date to keep with Nigeria Customs.
The last game on Day 1 of the NBBF Premier League final 8 is the confrontation between Kano Pillars and Police Baton.

In the Garden City of Port Harcourt, it’s the start of the NBBF TotalEnergies Division 2 South South Play-off with 12 teams in attendance.
The 12 teams drawn from Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Edo and Delta States will be seeking to pick the two tickets for the Atlantic conference finals.
The 12 teams include DA-F Rising Stars, Favour Arena, Bayelsa Waves, Patriots BC, Richday Academy, Spartans, Highflyers, as well as two other each from Cross Rivers State and Akwa Ibom State.
Already, Federal Polytechnic Nekede and Team Anambra are through to the Atlantic conference finals after picking their tickets at the South East Play-off concluded in Owerri, Imo State over the weekend.
The North East Play-off of the NBBF TotalEnergies Division 2 has also been decided with Numan Super Flames and Adamawa Lions grabbing the tickets to the Savannah Conference finals in Abuja.
