The National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) CSP Ebere Amaraizu has explained that both POCACOV in my school activity and POCACOV in my community as well as POCACOV in my family are community driven activities in line with the tenets of community oriented policing (C.O.P) as well as community policing framework of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Usman Alkali Baba aimed at mobilizing stakeholders,galvanizing their support and partnership as well as enhancing participation towards joint problem Identification and Joint Problem Solving For a functional Community .According to Amaraizu,it is also an effective and efficient tool of PREVENT interventions which is tailored towards towards cutting the supply chains and conveyor belts of young minds involvement and recruitment into serious and organized crime (SOC) and Organized criminal groups(OCGS) as well as providing a positive Alternative Pathways in partnership with relevant stakeholders for a functional Community.
He made this known today 14/10/2022 while reacting shortly after POCACOV in My School Intervention held at MAYDAY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL TransEkulu Enugu where POCACOV and its stakeholders had engaged students and exposing them to critical thinking and equiping them with relevant knowledge and true life story and activity which will help strenghten their resilience and make them see themselves as prospective leaders of tomorrow.During the intervention ,Faith Victor Onyekwere of Key edge Consult and a stakeholder of POCACOV had reminded young minds to remain focus and avoid anything which is contrary to morals,standard,and discipline .She went further to present her true life story aimed at further reshaping their beliefs ,action and thinking for a greater future.
On his part the Prioprietor of the School,Chief Chiude Romanus who also is a POCACOV Stakeholder ,appreciated the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector General of Police on POCACOV Initiative which is aimed helping young minds to overcome those challenges that will expose them into becoming members of organized criminal groups.He further described POCACOV as a kick start solution and urged all communities to support the laudable community driven initiative for a functional Community.
On their Parts ,students expressed happiness with POCACOV with its community driven teaching which has exposed them to the tenets of morals and values and pleaded for more visits by POCACOV Team.
