The much anticipated Art of Sports exhibition has kicked-off at the Owerri Sports Club as artists converged in the Imo State capital to showcase their talents.
The colourful event had in attendance, the SA to the Governor on Creative Art and Culture, Bobby Michael, President of Owerri Sports Club,Hon Chike Orjiako representatives from Emzo Pharmaceuticals and other stakeholders.
Highlights of the event was cultural dance performances, ‘Artist Talk’ by a lecturer in the Department of Art and Design, Federal Polytecnic Nekede, Mr Tatiana who shared his thoughts on the Art of Sports and how the two are interwoven.
In his address, Mr. Michael assured of government support saying that the programme will promote creative art in the state.
Also, the President of Owerri Sports Club said he was delighted to partner with the organisers noting that it is an opportunity for participants to see the Owerri Club.
The event which officially kicked off with an exhibition had free-health check and lecture on Hepatitis B by Emzo Pharmaceuticals will run till the end of the week with football competition running at the sideline and an opportunity for fun seekers and families to enjoy the work of arts and sports put together in the Eastern Heartland.
