Head Coach of Katsina United, Usman Abd’allah, has pleaded with the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to empower coaches in the country acquire CAF licence certificates.
The 2019 NPFL champion solicited for NFF intervention in building capacity for coaches without CAF licence noting that it will transcend to the growth of the game in the country.
Wakawaka Sports Extra can report that the Super Eagles 3rd Assistant Coach is among the few coaches that have the CAF licence certificates.
He was a semi-finalist of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2018, Round of 16 Coup De France, ESP Toulon France, Runner-Up Bangladesh Premier League as Coach Player.
He said: “The NFF should help out other coaches that does not have the opportunity to go somewhere to update themselves.
“All of us that were appointed, maybe they should look at many that have lower qualifications and maybe sponsor them to courses.
“Apart from myself and maybe Finidi George, Salisu Yusuf, many does not have a licence of CAF. If they are helping the coaches, the same time they are helping the country.
“The more we know more the better for football in Nigeria because we are they ones that will translate it to the team.
“It’s okay to go and learn. We need to update ourselves and am also learning. Anytime I see a course that is higher, I go and learn. I’m always ready to learn more. It’s the country that will benefit.”
