World Mini Football recognises Nigeria due to our impact and input – Chigozie Nwagwu

The Chairman, Imo State Mini Football Association, Chigozie Nwagwu

has lauded the efforts of stakeholders in Mini Football in the country that has seen its recognition globally.

The Assistant National Team Coach of Mini Football and CEO G Innovation FC, Lagos, said that the growth of the game has necessitated the body to bid for the hosting rights of the world champions competition.

He stated this in a chat with Wakawaka Sports Extra, saying that all hands must be on deck to publicise the game in Imo State.

He went further to seek for collaboration from government and private sectors in ensuring the game grows rapidly in the country.

He said: “We all are amazed how fast it’s growing especially in the northern states. Many people are joining and practicing it. It’s growing as fast as we can imagine.

“There will be a champions competition in Nigeria which Nigeria is bidding to host it. Some of the progression and the way the world mini football recognises Nigeria due to our impact and input.

“It has been an amazing journey and experience. The way people are coming in and showing interest both private bodies.

“Everybody has to be involved. is interested and we are working on something to make sure mini football is been felt because that’s the game we have to make people know about the importance.

“People are even buying the idea. I will meet the stakeholders so that we can see how to take it to the next level.

“That’s the new football. We have to put hands on deck, all the stakeholders so that we can see how it works out in the south east States “
