Head Coach of Nigeria National League, NNL side, Adoration FC of Enugu, Encie Ernie, said his team is still on course to secure promotion despite the loss to Campos FC in an NNL game.
Campos FC of Owerri defeated the Enugu-based side at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri to push themselves out of the relegation zone.
Encie said: “Actually, We were conscious of ourselves not to concede and that’s why we drew in the first half. Immediately we conceded the penalty, I made substitutions to introduce attackers.
“The match means a lot to us, assuming we won we would have been in second position. These guys are trying to get out of relegation. I look forward to promotion.”
Meanwhile, Ogbuehi Ndubuisi, an attacker of Campos FC who has netted four times in the campaign believes the victory will motivate them to escape the drop.
He said: “The team spirit wasn’t high in the first half and we have to motivate ourselves for us to win the game. It wasn’t best for me and the team. I look forward to move higher to a better team.”
