Former African Football King,Emmanuel Amunike has rated as high the standard of the 2021 African Cup of Nations holding in Cameroon.

The former Tanzanian National team coach acknowledged the great improvement from the young teams at the tournament and stating that the young teams showed that Football in Africa has indeed grown compared to the last outing in Egypt.

Amunike who is a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Technical Committee for the competition explained that, expanding the competition from 16 to 24 teams has helped the smaller Nations to qualify for the competition and they all proved book markers wrong by providing a healthy competition and showed class as well.

Some of the young teams who were initially written off and rated as underdogs created upsets in the tournament thus making the tournament more interesting.

The big teams where knocked out in the first round of the competition, the defending Champions Algeria and Mali were defeated by Equatorial Guinea, Comoros qualified for the round of 16 even without a known keeper, they lost to host Cameroon.

In all, New teams in Africa are beginning to prove that you cannot just beat them four five six goals again as it was in the previous days, meaning that Football has advanced in Adrica
