NPFL Week 6 No Compromise, Tade Tells NPFL Referees*

As the NPFL enters Week 6, referees on duty for this weekend’s matches have been enjoined to eschew acts not in conformity with the Laws of Game and competition rules.

This charge was given by the President of the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, Otunba Tade Azeez.

Otunba Tade Azeez disclosed that going by standard practice in modern day refereeing, compromise has no place irrespective of distractions.
He further urged teams and state FAs to provide a conducive environment for fair and firm officiating.

One of the very good hands lifted from the Nigeria National League, NNL, Edwin Anyanwu, a graduate of sociology from Ignatius Ajuru university of education, very athletic, an advocate for good football who had a brief spell with Daar Communication, from the Rivers State Council, will have his baptism of fire with the Oriental Derby in Okigwe; Abia Warriors vs Heartland FC of Owerri.

Under the watchful eyes of a retired premier league referee from Kano , Iyan Garba Hamza as Assessor, Anyanwu will rely on the capable hands of Musa Isiyaku and Blessing Arasonwan of Jigawa and Lagos respectively.

Another derby in the North Central zone, Nassarawa Utd vs Lobi Stars of Markurdi will have three members of the international referees crew from Nigeria; FIFas Grema Mohammed of Borno, Usman Abdulmajeed of Oyo and Akwa Ibom’s Mfom Friday on parade. Kebbi state referees chairman Ibrahim Ngaski is the Assessor.

The top of the bill cracker in Nnewi, the adopted home of Rangers in the game against Kwara United has tested hand in Ibrahim Abdurazak of Borno while another new comer to the scene from the NNL, Sanusi Hussaini Jega of Kebbi will take charge of the Wikki vs Remo match.

A civil defence officer from Ogun State, Ajibola Kassim with experienced hands Safiyanu Bazza AD, and Ebuka Emmanuel of Cross River will be in Kaduna for Kano Pillars vs Niger Tornadoes with an able assessor, Mike Okwechime as Assessor.
