NWFL 2021/22 Coordinator task Edo Queens on commitment

General Coordinator of Edo Queens FC Sabina Chikere, has called for total commitment from players ahead of the 2021/22 Nigeria Women Football League NWFL new premiership season. Sabina said that Edo Queens team must be ready to be at their best as they get set to trade tackles with the just promoted NWFL side Adamawa Queens of Yola on the 8th of December at the Pantami Stadium Gombe State.

Happy with the preparations of the team for the league, she expressed confidence in coach, Mathew Wemimo- led squad, stressing that the sport loving people of Edo State are anxious to see the Queens do the State proud by ensuring that they break the jinx of ending the season without a trophy as they begin the new premiership season title chase.
“Well we are very excited that the NWFL 2021-22 season is starting few days from now, in Edo Queens we expect the best, we have done alot of things, we have put a lot of things in place, we attended pre- season tournaments, we played a lot of friendlies, we went on training tour stayed two weeks in Ijebu- Ode getting ready, players were screened and selected from all parts of the country. Now we have been able to house them in a very conducive atmosphere, they have been training together, went to pre- season tournaments together so that they blend together for understanding and cohesion. So far so good, Edo Queens is ready for the league and I know with the crop of players we have in our camp presently and the calibre of coaches and management crew, Edo Queens will be a team to beat.” Sabina Chikere, also commended coach Mathew Wemimo, and her technical crew for their technical input, adding that the management is ever ready to provide the necessary logistics that will enhance the overall performance of the team.
“We are confidence in coach Wemimo, we are happy with them, we brought them in because we saw what they have, we have absolute confidence and trust in them and we are also happy with what they have been able to do.”
“Again for players, I want them to be focused, they must have direction, they must know from the beginning what they want to achieve for themselves before thinking of what they want to achieve for the State. We expect the best from them and I know by the special grace of God they would give us the best. They all know that our first away challenge is against a team that just regained promotion to the elite league, they know what is astake, we need the crucial three away points to start the new season. In our group no team is a pushover, so for us to be top our group, all hands must be on desk.”
Edo Queens has been pitted against Adamawa Queens FC in the first league game in group A. The other teams in the group are: Osun Babes FC, Pelican Stars FC, Nasarawa Amazons FC, and Naija Ratels FC.
The Godwin Obaseki girls are expected to hit Gombe next week by Air for the cracker.
