Grassroots Football: EPIA Unity Peace Cup Tournament Kicks off in Benin

Edo Progressive Indigenous Association (EPIA) is organising grassroots Football tournament for clubs across the three senatorial districts of Edo state,beginning from Monday, November 8,2021.

The draws ceremony held at the Prestige Hotels in Benin on Friday with Ine Stars paired against Eagle Wings in the opening match of Edo south fixtures. Kickoff time is 9.00 am.
St. Andrews FC are scheduled to take on Rockers FC at 10.00 am while BJ Foundation v Dynamo Academy (12 PM ) and Yak Sports FC v Rolly FC ( 2PM ) follow respectively. All matches are to be played at the UBTH field according to the programme released by the organisers.

The tournament which is in Direct Knockout format would have Winners of match 1 v winners of match 3 lock horns at 8.30 am while Winners of match 2 v winners of match 4 slug it out on Tuesday
for the two semifinals tickets available for Edo south .

Same format is applicable in the Edo Central and North who have single simifinals ticket each .

The expected mixed finals-South to have two finalists- to be concluded in January, 2022.

Speaking during the draws ceremony, former Bendel Insurance FC Coach Baldwin Bazuaye who is the Technical Director of the tournament organising committee,the open tournament is expected to be rounded off with colourful closing ceremony during which trophies and Prizes will be given to the winners.
