Uzodimma’s 1year anniversary- Presidency, Governors, N/Assembly, APC moved to Owerri.

Presidency which is the seat of power in the country and the entire leadership of the ruling party All Progressive Congress yesterday relocated to Owerri the capital Imo State for a one year anniversary celevration of Governor Hope Uzodimma.

The event held at Dan Anyiam  Sports Stadium saw both social and business activities in the city of Owerri temporarily shut down with the presence of President Muhammad Buhari represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the senate president well as the Athoney General And Minister for Justice.

The leadership of APC in the country ably led by the national  care taker committee chairman and Governor of Your State, the Senate president Sen.Larwan, his Deputy Senate President and other senators from different geo-political zones were conspicuously present to honoured the anniversary.

Some members of the red Chambers, the Federal House of Representatives were not left out as they stormed the city of Owerri in grand style to give honour to whom it is due.

A good number of State Governors such as Governor of Lagos State, Ebonyi State, Kogi State, Ekitti State and Yobe State were also in full attendance to demonstrate soliderity to their colleague Governor Hope Uzodimma.

In his speech at the event, President Muhammadu Buhari represented by his vice Prof.Yemi Osinbajo advised Governor Hope Uzodimma to remain focus in the day to day running of the state to ensure he delievered good governance to the people of the state.

The President commended Governor Uzodimma for his monumental achievements recorded within one year bordering on massive road projects, rehabilitation of educational institutions and  recticulation of power supply to the rural areas in the state among other things.

The President who praised the Governor for starting well, prayed to God to give the Governor more strenght and vision to achieve a lots more for the state.

He said that as public servant, there is need for him to serve the state with the fear of God.

In his address, Governor Hope Uzodimma said that in his one year in office as the Governor of Imo State, he never failed Imo people.

He said that on assumption of office, he never received any handover note from the former administration in the state adding that inspite of that, he vowed to make life better for the people of the state more than he met it.

Uzodimma said that he is not coming to Govern the state to grab people’s land or becomes richer than the state after being a Governor.

He insisted that he would serve the people of the state as their Governor assuring that Imo State did not election him to give excuses.

Giving the situation, the Governor said he quickly decided to take the bull by the horn by ensuring that people’s confidence in governance is restored.

Governor Uzodimma said that his administration would be commissioning 46 roads scartered across the state, pointing out that the good roads seen in the state today were not there a year ago.

In his homly during the inter-denominational Church Service, the Arch Bishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, Bishop Anthony Obinna, regretted over what described as bad situation of Nigeria today which he said is worse than it was before and immediately after the civil war.

He pointed out that things have not only fallen apart in Nigeria, but have fallen into pieces.

He frowned that wickedness and evil deeds have been arrogantly promoted and defended in various quarters adding that bickering, attacks and counter attacks, intermediate wars have spread across Nigeria which is on the verge of collapse.

Obinna admonished everyone to redouble their commitment to God- to prefer light instead of the darkness.

He charged leaders to allow the light of Christ to shine in them so that they lead well and thereby harnessing peace, progress and prosperity of the society.
