The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Monday Bala Kuryas has commended the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu on the POCACOV initiative which done much on Police Youth Value Reorientation,sensitization of school children and community members on the dangers of cultism and other vices for safer school and community through stakeholders involvement and participation.He made the commendation on 4/3/2021 in his office at the state Headquarters Awka when he played host to the team of the POCACOV led by the National Coordinator POCACOV,CSP Ebere Amaraizu.He noted that the unique element of pocacov is that it is a community driven program working with different stakeholders and galvanizing their support to aid in getting to the root of all crime and criminality especially cultism and other vices and resolving them for a safer school and community pointing out that POCACOV School Visitation program as he can observe is a right step from right direction in order to educate the young minds,cut the supply chain and conveyor belt.He however commended the efforts and the energy of the National Coordinator Pocacov Csp Ebere Amaraizu whom he described as a man of many parts and whom he worked with when he was the Enugu state police Public Relations officer.He disclosed that the state command under his watch will be set for the POCACOV Summit and LAUNCH April,2021 and to further deepen the campaign against Cultism and other vices in the state for a safe and secured community.
On his Part,the National Coordinator POCACOV,Csp Ebere Amaraizu thanked the commissioner of police for receiving the POCACOV Team members and also identifying with the POCACOV and its ongoing Nationwide activities through stakeholders involvement and participation and revealed that POCACOV has come a long way within the time of its inauguration by the Inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu and pointing out that POCACOV as a community driven program has POCACOV/NYSC Community Development Service(POCACOV/NYSC CDS) ,POCACOV Ambassadors made up of reputable actors,actress,comedians,Artiste and MCs who are influenzas to Nigerian Children and Youths,POCACOV Volunteer Clubs(PVC) for safer school and community,POCACOV Fan Clubs For safer school,POCACOV school Chess game for children and youth value reorientation,self discover and strategic leadership direction,POCACOV Marathon on Plateau for youth Value Reorientation in Nigeria and other forum and activity base elements as well as community members committee forum to help to deepen the campaign and to measure the impact of the campaign.He assured that POCACOV as Community policing tool will work with different stakeholders and galvanize their support,develop modules of community engagement through IGP M.A Adamu POCACOV Resource Centre Enugu for a safer school and safer community in Anambra state and its environs,
POCACOV is the initiative and community driven program of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu aimed at saving Nigerian Children and Youths from the Claws of Cultism and Other Vices and for a safer School and Community through Advocacy,Awareness Creation and Sensitization,Reorientation and Mentoring.
Highlight of the visit was the formal presentation of POCACOV campaign Materials including that of the safer school and community by the National Coordinator POCACOV Csp Amaraizu to the commissioner of police Monday B.Kuryas,fsi.The National Coordinator was accompanied in the visit by POCACOV Team members from IGP M.A Adamu Pocacov Resource centre,the Anambra state POCACOV State Coordinator Sp Chukwudi Okorogu,the POCACOV Volunteer Chairman Anambra State,Prince Donatus Orjika and POCACOV Team Members fro Anambra state.
