Onyema Football Club have booked their place in the final of the 2026 Imo State Football Association League after defeating Harke FC 8-7 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
The hard-fought victory keeps Onyema FC in contention for the league title and a place in the Nationwide League Division Two playoffs, with the champions set to represent Imo State at the national competition.
Onyema FC will face the winner of the second semifinal between Elite FC and Akabo United FC. Elite FC secured their place in the semifinal after a convincing 2-0 victory over Evermore FC, while Akabo United FC advanced directly to the last four.
Meanwhile, the Imo State Football Association has announced a change in the date for the league final. The championship match, which was initially scheduled for Thursday, July 9, 2026, has been postponed and will now be played on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
The final will be held at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Practice Pitch, Owerri, with kickoff fixed for 2:00 p.m.
The winner of the final will emerge as the 2026 Imo State Football Association League champions and earn the right to represent Imo State at the Nationwide League Division Two playoffs.
