Dr. Sunday Obaseki, an administrative resource person and official of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to lead the Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League on an interim basis, Wakawaka Sports Extra reports.
Following Thursday’s resignations of Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau as President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Dr Mohammed Sanusi as General Secretary, and members of the Executive Committee, the National Sports Commission sacked Gbenga Elegbeleye as the Chairman of the NPFL and Davidson Owumi as its Chief Operating Officer.
Wakawaka Sports Extra gathered that Dr Obaseki will direct proceedings of the league, particularly the curtain raiser of the 2026/27 season in Ibadan between Shooting Stars and Inter Lagos.
It was also gathered that a new Chief Operating Officer will be appointed in due course to oversee the league pending the conclusion of interim measures intended to ensure continuity in the administration of Nigerian Football.
