CHRISTIAN NKWO THANKS HEARTLAND FAMILY FOR HONOUR, APOLOGISES TO FANS OVER CROWN FC DRAW

By Wakawaka Sports

Heartland FC captain, Christian Nkwo, has expressed profound gratitude to the management, technical crew, players and supporters of the Owerri-based club for the honour bestowed on him on Sunday.

A visibly delighted Nkwo said he never expected the recognition, describing it as one of the most adorable honours he had received.

Speaking after Heartland FC’s 2-2 draw against Crown FC in their 2026/2027 Nigeria National League (NNL) season opener at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Nkwo said:

I personally want to thank Heartland Football Club of Owerri. From my side, it was the most adorable honour I received on Sunday.

To be honest, I never expected such. I was really, really happy and grateful for the gift.

I also want to thank the entire Heartland family, Coach Emmanuel Amuneke, MFR, the backroom staff, the management, my teammates and the fans.

I sincerely want to apologise to all our fans and the good people of Imo State over yesterday’s disappointing result.

They should remain calm and trust the process. We will get it right, and we will bounce back. They deserve better. Thank you.

Nkwo’s message underscores the team’s determination to make amends following the 2-2 draw, as Heartland begin their campaign in the 2026/2027 NNL season.
