Barau FC General Manager, Dominic Iorfa Charges Players Ahead of NPFL Opener Against Nasarawa United

 

The General Manager of Barau Football Club, Dominic Iorfa, has charged the club’s players to go for victory in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2026/2027 season-opening match against Nasarawa United.

The NPFL Matchday 1 encounter between the two northern clubs will take place on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano, with kick-off scheduled for 4:00pm.

Speaking to the players on Saturday in Kano, the experienced football administrator urged them to work hard, remain focused and do everything necessary to secure victory in the opening game.

“You know winning the first league game is very important. I know you are always working with ability and dedication. I urge you to work hard to secure victory,” Iorfa said.

Dominic Iorfa also assured the players of his commitment to their welfare and match bonuses, reaffirming his determination to fulfil his promises and ensure the smooth running of all necessary club activities.

He further charged the coaching crew and club officials to maintain professionalism, teamwork and discipline in their efforts to ensure the success of Barau FC throughout the season.

Responding on behalf of the club’s players and coaching crew, Head Coach Eugene Agagbe expressed appreciation for the General Manager’s encouraging words.

He assured the management of the team’s commitment and cooperation towards achieving the club’s objectives and competing strongly for success throughout the season.

The 2026/2027 NPFL campaign kicked off on Friday, with Shooting Stars defeating Inter Lagos FC 2–1 in Ibadan. Other fixtures are scheduled to take place across the country this weekend.
