The Anambra State Government has been commended for appointing former Nigerian international football star and Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association, Gen. Chikelue Iloenyosi, to oversee the affairs of the state-owned football club, Solution FC.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Nigeria National League (NNL) Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Owerri, French Translator and Football Administrator, Ojukwu Ifeanyichukwu Stanley, described the appointment as a positive step towards repositioning the club and strengthening football development in Anambra State.
Ojukwu praised Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for entrusting the responsibility to Iloenyosi, noting that his experience as a former international player and football administrator would be valuable in building a competitive Solution FC.
He said the governor was more concerned about what individuals could contribute to the productive sector and development of the state, particularly in creating opportunities for young people.
According to him, the appointment provides an opportunity to discover and develop talented young footballers in Anambra while giving them a platform to pursue professional careers.
Ojukwu expressed confidence that under Iloenyosi’s leadership, Solution FC would make its mark in Nigerian football, stressing that only players with the quality, discipline and commitment required to compete at a high level should wear the club’s colours.
Solution FC will campaign in Conference B of the 2026/27 Nigeria National League season alongside Beyond Limits FA, Akwa United FC, Smart City FC, Abakaliki FC, Right2Win FC, Dokkall Khairu FC, Ekiti United FC and Bayelsa United FC.
He added that expectations were high among football stakeholders that the new leadership would usher in a new era of professionalism, youth development and competitive success for Solution FC.
