I woke up to what I consider an emotional blackmail campaign from Lobi Media, led by its Director, Emmanuel Ujah, and his assistant, Alexander Achigbe, suggesting that I should be appointed President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
These same individuals, whom I regard as disgruntled elements, were instrumental in sabotaging my efforts during my time at Lobi Stars, going as far as forming a group known as the “Benue Football Stakeholders” group, which, in my view, was created primarily to undermine my efforts and pull me down. Where is the group today? It appears to have disappeared following my departure from Lobi Stars.
However, through resilience, professionalism and my strong background in football administration, I was able to withstand those challenges and continue making meaningful contributions to the game while positively impacting the lives of people around me.
You cannot be an arch-enemy yesterday and suddenly become an advocate today. I consider such a sudden change in position to be nothing more than sycophancy and a calculated attempt to create unnecessary rancour between me, my colleagues and friends.
For the avoidance of doubt, I am comfortable and fully committed to my current role as General Manager of Barau FC Kano. At no point have I asked anyone to campaign for me for any position at the Glass House, nor have I authorised anyone to promote such an agenda on my behalf.
I therefore urge Mr. Emmanuel Ujah and Mr. Alexander Achigbe to desist from publishing or circulating any material linking me with the NFF presidency or any other position within the federation.
I am particularly concerned that such publications could be twisted or misrepresented on social media tomorrow, creating the impression that I granted an interview or made statements that I never made.
Any malicious or unauthorised publication linking me to any position, whether by Benue-based media or any other platform, without my express consent, may compel me to seek appropriate legal redress.
I remain a law-abiding football administrator committed to the unity, growth and progress of Nigerian football.
For now, my focus remains firmly repaying the confidence imposed on me by my principal the Deputy Senate President and Grand Patron Barau FC Kano with integrity, professionalism and dedication. I have no interest in allowing unnecessary media narratives to distract me from my responsibilities and commitment to the club.
