One time Nigeria international, former BCC Lions and Abiola Babes talisman, and now Barau FC chieftain, Dominic Iorfa, has commended the quality, organisation and competitive spirit displayed by teams participating in the Kano State Tofa Premier League.
Iorfa made the remarks while watching a thrilling Week Three encounter between Kano Lions FC and Darma United FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano.
The former Super Eagles star expressed satisfaction with what he described as an encouraging display of grassroots football talent, noting that the competition is providing young players with an important platform to develop their skills and gain valuable match experience.
According to Iorfa, the level of commitment shown by the clubs, players, coaches and supporters demonstrates the growing passion for football in Kano State.
He particularly praised the organisers for creating an avenue where emerging talents can compete regularly and attract the attention of football stakeholders.
The Barau FC chieftain also stressed the importance of supporting grassroots competitions, saying leagues of this nature could serve as a pathway for discovering the next generation of football stars from Kano and beyond.
